Happiness Essay Can I ask you one question? When was the last time you feel you are happy? When was the last time you feel sad? As you answer my question, is it the happiest moment of your life? Do you experience something different? I am Brian, a (2007) student taking up speech communication course. I do feel right now getting nervous and getting the attention of yours to impart my own experience of happiness. I define happiness in various ways. I see it in different perspective. I seek true happiness and it is my ultimate goal. What is happiness to me? And why is it important to me? Happiness is emotionally feeling good, content, and excited. I remember when I was in third grade, which was the first time my crush noticed me. I felt something different and my heart kept pounding. Happiness meant feeling delightful and satisfaction of oneself. Happiness is the state of being happy, at peace, free, content, and satisfied. Every individual wanted to feel happy more willingly than feel poignant. The importance of being happy reflects when I feel sad. I choose to live my life happy and it gives me a positive outlook of life. If I’m happy, I tend to share this happiness with someone. In return, I affect the society in part. I tend to tell stories every time I’m feeling good and better. I tell everything, every topic that comes into my mind, may it be my love life, academics, and / or social relationships. Sometimes, I keep on telling my friends about politics, and science advancement in our country. What is true happiness to me? True happiness is different from pleasure. You can be happy but not pleased, vis-a-vis. Pleasure always goes together with satisfaction. Happiness involves a feeling, more deep than satisfaction. Happiness is the feeling of being content and fulfilled on the things I desire. Pleasure is different from happiness, I may take pleasure on the thing I am doing but I am unhappy. Happiness is an experience not an emotion. I look this idea on different perspective. Happiness is one’s feeling in a situation where I feel happy. Being happy does include both emotion and the cause of that emotion in a particular situation. In example, I’m always happy when I come together with my friends. Happiness is the state of being happy from the inside reflecting to others. It is an experience of peace and freedom. Happiness is my ultimate goal. I live and plan to be happy. Although I feel depressed in my studies, love life, and family (sometimes), I wanted to smile every day at least once in a day just to comfort my self and ignore those bad things happening to me. I wanted to spend the rest of the day fulfilled and content. I am studying for my future for the reason to be happy. In the near future, my goal to be a successful person is my motivation to happiness. Unhappiness drives me to be happy. I define happiness through my sad experiences. This is ironic? But, I will only define and differentiate happiness from unhappiness when I experience both. I am often driven by the emotion and I wanted to find solution in my unhappiness. Most of the time, I eat a lot to counter my unhappiness (Gronbeck, et al. , 1985). I often ask myself if I’m happy or not? Every day, I smile for the purpose of removing stress and pressure from my problems. Whether I am happy through love life, family, and / or friends, what is important is to feel content. I define happiness in different points / perspective. I define my happiness out of my emotions and experience. I define happiness different from pleasure. I delimit the importance of happiness in an individual. Everything is driven out by my goal to be happy. Moreover, my aspiration to be happy motivates me to be successful in the near future. As I defined earlier what meant happiness, I’m happy that I reached the end of speech. I wish you will all be happy at the end of the day.

A sole proprietorship, or just simply proprietorship, is one type of business which in legal terms has no separate existence from its owner. Meaning, that the law does not make a difference between the property that belongs to the owner, and the things that belongs to the business, which are called assets. Hence, the limitations of liability enjoyed by other types of business; which are a corporation and partnership; does not apply to sole proprietorship. Also there is no difference between the money that the owner owes people and the money that the business owes people, which are also called debts. In short, all debts of the business are debts of the owner as well. A sole proprietor business does not pay corporate taxes, but the owner of the business pays personal income taxes on the profit made by the business. A sole proprietor must register a Trade name or Doing Business As. A business with a legal name or a registered name will allow the proprietor to open a business account with banking institutions. A sole proprietorship business has some advantages: The owner of this kind of business has better control of the business itself in general and better business administration is possible since there is only one owner, decision making will be quick because there is no need to consult others; there are also no legal formalities in terms of forming or dissolving a business; a sole propriety has a lot of freedom from government regulations. Every form of business ownership has some sort of government regulation to follow, but in general, this form of business has the least. For example: a sole proprietorship reports its income and deductions using just a simple one or two page tax return form, while a partnership or corporation are required to submit a tax return composing of several pages in length and also a quarterly and an annual payroll tax return; in addition, all the profit of a sole proprietorship business go directly right to the owner. On the other hand, some disadvantages of this type of business are: businesses in sole proprietor type will likely have a hard time in raising capitals since share of the business are personal and cannot be sold; it is also sometimes difficult to apply for a bank finance, as sole proprietorship cannot grant floating charge which in jurisdiction is a sine qua non (originally a Latin legal term for without which it could not be) of bank financing; hiring of employees may also be difficult. This form of business have unlimited liability, therefore, if the business is face with a legal case, the owner or the proprietor is personally liable; business in this form is also uncertain, because as soon as the owner decides to stop the business, or the owner eventually died, the business then suddenly ceases to exist.; another disadvantage of this form of business is that as the business becomes successful, risks that accompanied the business tends to grow. A Partnership Is a type of business that has between 2 and 20 partners that owns the business respectively, in which partners shares all the profit or losses of the business in which all have invested. A legal agreement should be signed, if two or more people are planning to start a partnership business. The agreement must include these points: if the partnership ends, what happens to the assets of the business. For example: the tools and the furniture; how will the profits be shared by the partners. For example: one partner works everyday on the other hand another partner only works three day a week. They would not share the profit equally because the other works more than the other; if one partner wants to leave the partnership. By having a legal agreement that includes these points, the interest of all the partners will be safe. Every time a new partner joins, the entire partner must sign a new agreement. Each of the partners can write their own contracts for the partnership, but they must ensure that it is a valid legal contract. Like in a sole propriety, the laws do not recognized any difference between the partnerships assets and debts, and the partners personal assets and debts. Also the law does not recognize any difference between different partners assets and debts. In most countries, a partnership is considered a nominate contract between individual who, agreed to carry on an enterprise, cooperates and contributes to it, by combining property, knowledge, activities and to share its profit. A partnership is also considered a legal entity; although different legal system had reached different conclusions on this point; because partners involved have a partnership agreement, or a declaration of their partnership. A Partnership type of business is often favored over corporations for taxation purposes. In a partnership business eliminates the dividend tax that is levied upon profits. The most basic form a partnership business is a General Partnership. In this kind of partnership, all the partners personally manage the business and also personally liable to its debts. The other forms which have developed in other countries are the Limited Partnership (LP), in this partnership, certain limited partners relinquish their ability in managing the business in exchanged for limited liability for the partnerships debts; and the other form of partnership is the Limited Liability Partnership (LLC), in this form, all partners have some degree of limited liability in the partnership. There are also Private Limited Companies which are one the most common type of company that limited liability refers to the Shareholders who owns the company as they have purchased company shares. Shareholders are only liable to the amount they owe on the shares they purchased (this referring to guarantee). These companies are often run by families. There are 50 persons allowed in private limited companies. A Close Corporation A Corporation is considered to be an artificial legal entity (technically, a juristic person) which, even though have a number of natural persons or other legal entities, has a separate legal identity from them. Unlike a Company who has directors or shareholders, or a board member or chairperson; a close corporation are owned and managed by people called Members. A close corporation can only have 10 members. The law sees a close corporation separate from its members. This means that unlike in sole propriety and a partnership, all the assets and debts of the business belongs to the close corporation, all the assets and debts of each of its member corporation have nothing to do with the close corporation. As a legal entity, the corporation receives legal rights and duties. These rights are: the ability to sue and be sued (access to court); Rights to common treasury (rights to hold separate assets from its members); the right to hire agents (the right to hire employees); the right to ha ve a common seal (rights to govern its internal affairs); government and courts can also add other rights. Granting of additional rights to corporations is often very much controversial. Stewart Kyd, the author of the first treatise on corporate law in English, defined a corporation as a collection of many individuals united into one body, under a special denomination, having perpetual succession under an artificial form, and vested by the policy of the law with the capacity of acting in several respects as an individual, (A treatise on the law of corporations, 1794, p.13) The Modern Business Corporation; a type of corporation presently dominant; and in addition to a corporations legal rights, has three legal characteristics: Transferable share (membership can change without affecting the corporations legal entity); capacity for perpetual succession (this means that despite the withdrawal of any of its member, the corporation can possibly exist); and limited liability (members have limited responsible in the corporation in terms of debts). Corporations may also be formed fir local government (municipal corporation), charitable purposes (non-profit corporation), or for political, religious, or government programs (government-owned corporation). Kashif Basaria Ms. Weaver English 2 Honors 7 January, 2014 Preventing Medical Malpractice It is unfortunate to say that medical malpractice is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Medical malpractice is defined as negligence committed by a medical professional. Malpractice lawsuits have existed in the United States for more than 150 years, most of which were never pursued in court. Medical malpractice is interfering with patients’ rights as well as demanding high costs. However, medical malpractice can be overcome by managing the costs involved, and by regulating, enforcing and advocating patient rights. The most common medical malpractice claims are mainly from missed diagnoses. Their common result was, unfortunately, death, found in fifteen percent and forty eight percent of the cases filed. Most common cases involving missed diagnoses for adults were cancer and heart attacks (Jaslow). Other cases that were common were ectopic pregnancies, appendicitis, and fractures of the bone. Most missed diagnoses involving children were cancers, and meningitis (Jaslow). On account to this, Doctor Richard E. Anderson, chairman and CEO of the physician-operated medical malpractice insurer, The Doctors Company, says, â€Å"nobody benefits but lawyers†¦But the second message is [that] medical care is too expensive, we’re ordering too many tests† (Jaslow). Stated from the quote above, â€Å"too many tests† appear to be unnecessary and unwanted tests. Apart from this, some cases regarded the patient’s lack of attention to their disease or disorder. Not only is it the doctor’s responsibility to look after the patient, but it is also the patient’s responsibility to be attentive and persistent about their health and the health care provide... ... a health problem, incorrect supervision of medication to a patient, faulty or sub-standard performance of a diagnosis, surgery, or any other type of procedure, inadequate use of medical tools and instruments and devices and their lack of maintenance, and negligence towards patient records, test results, or any other kind of documentation (Goguen). Although, the list of problems and causes of medical malpractice seems rather endless and long, it can be cut short. Some ways to prevent and avoid malpractice or medical error is to be aware and involved. A doctor can take note of their patient and their medical history. A patient can be aware of their surroundings and the treatment that they are receiving. A patient’s safety should be a doctor’s primary concern, because it is their responsibility to tend to patients needs and to assist them to a proper nourished life.

PAIN Innocent plumes out of the lonely seed, Illusion of darkness was seen, Things seen were absorbed, Sun, water, alarm what happened? Fell in a tunnel, Lights were not yet seen, Faith slowly became weak, Failings, please stops Dodge, defense and attack like a boxer, Easy start yet harder comes, Not a single blink of an eye, Be firm and don't loosen up a single muscle! Fill with all bright colors, Four bright colors over one dark color, Darkness was unseen yet brightness was clearly seen, This is what the world is supposed to be! Walking on a dark street,Rusted street light soul working, Street light can't yet street lights can, Street is dark no more but now bright. Summary Answer Pain, right at this moment honestly I can't think of anything that makes me feel pain. I don't think I have been through the deep pain that people can't get rid of, but there is one thing that makes me feel pain and that is when see others in pain and to see this beautiful world suffering with so many kin ds of things. So basically based on this poem I wrote about what pain I faced and what I think I can do and what others can o to give solutions for this pain.This is a very short summary of the poem I wrote.
